Enya is best known for her blend of folk melodies and classical motifs. In 1980 Irish born singer Enya joined the band Clannad. After two years with Clannad, Enya moved on to record with producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan. The group recorded a successful album of TV music for BBC. Soon after, Enya recorded Watermark in 1988. She hit big with the single “Orinoco Flow” With her distinct style and powerful voice, the album sold four million copies worldwide. Watermark made Enya an international star and launched her successful career.

Moons, the follow up album in 1991. Shepherd Moons was even more successful then her first album, selling over ten million albums worldwide. The album stayed in the Top 200 for almost four years. After a 4 year hiatus Enya released the album Memory of Trees in 1995. The album again was a smash hit selling more then 2 million copies. Enya’s next success came in the award-winning film Lord of the Rings, where she contributed the single “May It Be.”
