She definitely is very underrated, considering how successful she was in the 1970's. She was on or hosted just about every variety show eg. Midnight Special, her own summer variety series and the Tonight Show. She sold more records than any other female vocalist, until Grease put Olivia Newton-John ahead of her. So.

moved to the United States after Reddy won the TV contest Bandstand.
After a long struggle of trying to find a label that would sign her, Reddy finally got a deal with Capitol Records. She first received US recognition for a cover of "I Don't Know How to Love Him" and soon after received international success for feminist-charged "I Am Woman." This song even won a Grammy for Female Pop Vocal. She continued to put out chart topping hits like "Delta Dawn", "Angie Baby", and "You And Me Against The World." "Delta Dawn" was originally written for Barbara Streisand. Luckily for Reddy, Streisand did not want to sing the song.
Reddy also participated in the world of theater. She had roles in the films Pete's Dragon and Airport 1975 and the musicals Anything Goes and Call Me Madam.
Reddy has recently written an autobiography. She currently suffers from Addison's disease and works to make others aware of this disease.
