els. Roadrunner was the first to show interest, with Universal and Atlantic soon making trips to Oklahoma City to try to woe the band,
In 2005, Hinder decided to go with Universal and they began working on the album
Extreme Behavior. First, they released a debut single "Get Stoned," following up with a tour in support of the entire album. The band's second single, "
Lips of an Angel", did far better on the charts, hitting #1 on several, and garnered international attention. ("Lips of an Angel" is now being covered by country artist
Jack Ingram.) Other Hinder songs off the debut offering included "
How Long" and "Better Than Me.” Announced on their tour and in several interviews, a new album is in the works, with a song titled "Thing for You," which was performed at their July show in Chesaning, Michigan, along with a cover of the
Steppenwolf song "Born to Be Wild." Also played was the song "Running in the Rain," which was cut from the US release of "Extreme Behavior." Hinder’s fans have already made the group one of the most hard-driving rock bands of the new millennium and there is nothing to indicate that they are going to be slowing down anytime soon. Musically taking a page from timeless groups like
Bad Company,
Aerosmith, and the
Rolling Stones, Hinder promises to leave its mark in rock ‘n roll history.
