R&B singer Joe, also known as Joe Lewis Thomas, grew up in Opelika, Alabama. Joe started his interest in music at an early age, singing and even directing the choir at his parent’s church. In 1993, while working in a gospel music store in New Jersey, Joe was discovered by producer Vincent Herbert. With the help of Herbert, Joe released his 1993 debut album, Everything, for Polygram records. The first singles Joe had success with were “I’m in Luv” and “All or Nothing.”

Joe’s real commercial success came when he released All That I Am in 1997 under Jive Recor Continued...

ds. The album boasted hits such as “All the Things” and “Don’t Wanna Be a Player.” With the success of his two singles, the album reached platinum status. Joe’s third album called My Name is Joe was released in 2000 and reached number two on the billboard charts. “I Wanna Know” and “Stutter” led to over three million sales of the album.

Although Joe has continued to make popular music, he has yet to reach platinum status again. His next two releases, The Better Days and And Then… both reached Gold status. Joe is still recording and can be frequently be heard in the R&B community.
