John Waller music biography continued...
late-1990s band According to John. After the band quit in 2001, he became a worship leader at South Link CPP (Free Methodist Church) in Colorado and began writing songs that were immediately embraced by his congregation. They loved Waller's music so much that they raised the money to finance a CD demo, which made its way into the hands of Mark Miller, lead vocalist for the award-winning country group Sawyer Brown and owner of Beach Street Records. Waller joined Beach Street's small, elite roster that includes Casting Crowns and Josh Bates, and came out with his own debut album, The Blessing in March 2007. In the same year he was named one of 10 "Faces to Watch" by Billboard. He followed with While I'm Waiting in 2009. "God has called me to use my songs to help set people free," says Waller. From the reception to his music, it's clear he is doing just that.
