athlete in high school, but lit out for Nashville after graduating high school in 2002 to pursue his dreams of having a career in country music. Moore met and worked with songwriter Jeremy Stover to record demo tapes, and was eventually discovered by record powerhouse producer Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson). In mid-2008, Moore signed to the Valory label, an imprint of Big Machine Records (Taylor Swift, Trisha Yearwood), and released a digital single "I Could Kick Your Ass". His first single, "Back That Thing Up", was released in mid-2008 and debuted at #55 on the Hot Country Songs charts in August 2008. After this song came "Small Town USA", which entered the Top 40 on the country charts as well. This song has reached Top 20 on the country charts, and has crossed over to the Billboard Hot 100 as well. Moore's self-titled debut album was part of a special promotion called "So You Want to Be a Record Label Executive." This promotion had placed Moore's music on social networking sites such as MySpace and iLike, where fans were allowed to create playlists comprising ten of his songs, and the top ten songs that were picked were included on the album. The move solidified a fan base that will only grow in the years to come.
