arcerated. When he got out of jail he was able to join an up-and-coming new record label Trill Entertainment, aka Trill Ent., which was backed by Pimp-C and UGK. Trill signed Boosie and assisted him in bringing his legal issues to an end. Soon after, Boosie and Trill independently released the CD "For my Thugs" under TrillEnt. This release went on to sell over 15,000 copies. Later in the summer of 2003, Boosie co-starred with one of his label-mates, Webbie, on the album "Ghetto Stories" which also went on to sell well over 15,000 copies.
In 2004, Lil Boosie teamed up with label-mate Webbie to release, "Gangsta Musik", the disc that first broke Boosie onto the national rap scene. The CD featured the ever popular Lil Boosie songs "Swerve" (which later made an appearance in the movie "Hustle and Flow"), "Give Me That", and "Bad Bitch". This was Boosie's first really popular album, eventually outgrowing the borders of Louisiana and reaching far beyond. Boosie's talent was now undeniable, and he caught the eye of some Universal Records representatives. In late January of 2005, Boosie signed a deal with Universal, and released the CD "Boosie Bad Azz". With a sizable offering of tracks that touch on a wide variety of topics close to Boosie's heart, like his tormented relationship with his father and doing dirt in the streets, Bad Azz was a versatile collection of songs from an MC with limitless potential. Big name guest stars like Pimp C, Yung Joc, and Webbie only helped solidify his national standing.
Since the release of Boosie Bad Azz, the hip hop star has become increasingly popular on the national hip hop scene. His days with the law are done, and the future looks very bright.
