Lobo's first single, "Me and You and a Dog Named Boo" was the first major hit for the label, reaching number 5 in the US and launching a successful series of singles that ultimately landed in a well-received debut album. In 1972, Lobo came back with the album Of a Simple Man, which yielded back-to-back Top 10 hits, including "Don't Expect Me To Be Your Friend", which reached #8 in the US charts, and "I'd Love You to Want Me".
