Mercy Me music biography continued...
Cochran, a bassist, and Robby Shaffer, percussionist, were added to the ranks.
In 2001, Mercy Me signed with INO Records and created their first album Almost There which contained the hit single, "I Can Only Imagine" and earned them American Music Award nomination. Their second album in 2002 called Spoken For earned them another American Music award this time for Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist. Two other albums were created in 2004 and 2005 entitled Here With Me and In The Blink of an Eye.
The band then went on to release the album Coming Up to Breathe. The lead singer Bart Miller has said that this album is more personal than the others and has been written more for God than themselves.
