cohorts RZA, Genius/GZA, and Ol' Dirty Bastard to form the Wang-Tang Clan in the early 90s. By 1993, he was put on the map with their debut album "Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)". The group had the option to pursue solo interests at the same time as working on Wu-Tang material and Method Man was the first to put out a solo album. Having signed with the legendary rap label Def Jam, Meth released "Tical" in 1994. The album was a major success, entering the charts at #4 and going platinum. Meth was also working with other hip-hop and R&B artists at the time, and his duet "I'll Be There For You/You're All I Need" with Mary J Blige was another huge success and went on to win him a Grammy. In 1997 he was back in the studio with his friends, releasing "Wu-Tang Forever". His second solo album, "Tical 2000: Judgment Day" was released in 1998 and featured numerous guest spots by Wu-Tang members and other stars like D'Angelo, Chris Rock, Mobb Deep and Redman. Throughout the years, Method Man had built up a close relationship with Redman and the two would go on to collaborate on several music and movie projects. In 1999 they released the album "Blackout!" which featured their collaborative musical works.
The Wu-Tang Clan released The W on November 2000 and Iron Flag in December 2001. The efforts earned two more platinum awards for the Wu-Tang Clan, making Meth's group one of the most successful rap acts to hit the dawn of the new millennium.



In 2004, Meth released his third solo album Tical 0: The Prequel, which featured the hit party single "What's Happenin'" with Busta Rhymes. On its release, many fans and critics were taken aback by its strong "mainstream" or "commercial" sound, highlighted by the guest appearances of pop-rap stars like Missy Elliott and P. Diddy. Meth returned to his hop roots with 4:21...The Day After (2006), and planned to continue in this direction with Blackout 2, marking two decades at the top of the hip hop industry.
