9, 1975, Buble grew up in the Vancouver suburb of Burnaby, in British Columbia. He was particularly close with his grandfather, who used to play songs from his heyday for his grandson, Buble soon took to the likes of Bobby Darin and other singers from his generation and started singing these classics at local clubs. When he was 17, Buble won the Canadian Youth Talent Search. Through a personal connection, he was introduced to the powerful record producer David Foster and was soon signed to Foster's label. Buble's self-titled 2003 debut became an instant hit, as he covered standards from a range of legends from Van Morrison to Queen. To follow up the acclaim he got for such hits as "Sway," Buble embarked on an exhausting world tour, spreading his music to all corners of the world and earning him comparisons to Harry Connick Jr.
Buble's fame grew and his 2005 release, In Time, reached #1 in Canada, Australia, Japan and Italy, and reached the Top 10 in the US and the UK. Bublé went on to win four Juno Awards (equivalent of the American Grammy Awards) at the 2006 Juno Awards in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, including "Pop Album of the Year" (It's Time), "Single of the Year" ("Home"), Album of the Year (It's Time), and Artist of the Year. He was also nominated for the Juno Fan Choice Award, but did not win. Overall, Michael Bublé took away the most awards at the 2006 Junos. Buble's third album, Call Me Irresponsible, was released in May 2007, with the first single from that album, "Everything," reaching success on the adult contemporary charts. It was one of two songs on the album to be penned by Buble himself, showing off his great songwriting skills as well as his velvety voice. In April 2007, Bublé appeared on American Idol, as a last minute replacement to Tony Bennett, singing Frank Sinatra's "Call Me Irresponsible." While Buble wowed a whole new audience with the performance, his long time devotees only had their faith his talents confirmed.
