Known for her thoughtful lyrics and interesting guitar chords, Michelle Branch has climbed the mountain of pop without getting stuck in the bubble gum aspects of the musical genre. Her first major hit, "Everywhere", hit radio in 2001, and was followed by another hit, "All You Wanted", both from her album The Spirit Room which was released in August 2001. In 2002, she appeared as lead vocalist on Carlos Santana's song "The Game of Love. The song went on to score a Grammy Award for best pop collaboration. In 2003 Branch released her second full-length album Hotel Paper. The first single "Are You Happy Now" again jumped on the top 20 of the Billboard single chart, establishing Branch as a major star.



Never one to rest on her laurels, In July, 2005 Branch announced the completion of an album with country singer Jessica Harp. The longtime friends and collaborators dubbed themselves The Wreckers, and created an album called Stand Still, Look Pretty, which combined Michelle's pop-rock influence with Harp's country-folk style. The pair have since split up and Branch has once again pursued a solo career, announcing on April 10, 2008, at her first solo concert in almost 4 years, that the title of her third studio album will be Everything Comes and Goes and that it will continue in the country vein. “After all the wonderful experiences I have had, the thing that I love most is that people are inspired by my music,” Michelle Branch has said. “So, follow your dreams, never give up, do what your heart tells you.
