Mike Oldfield: Tubular Bells- # 7-
Mike Oldfield began playing and recording at the age of 15 and had written and recorded the full fifty minute epic version of "Tubular Bells" before his nineteenth birthday. Signed to the newly formed Virgin Record label, the album was the first release on the fledgling label and would end up selling multi platinum. An edited version of the classic/pop instrumental would be used for the blockbuster horror film the Exorcist and peak on the U.S charts at # 7. It would go on to win the Grammy in 74' for Best Instrumental Composition.
