The exposure overseas got them a deal with RCA here in the United States and they released their first single, “I Want You Back” in 1998. After exposure on the Disney Channel the single shot up the charts as did their second single, “Tearin Up My Heart.” N Sync’s self-titled debut album was released in the U.S. in the spring of 1998, quickly climbing up the charts. In addition to scoring numerous Grammy nominations, N Sync has performed at the Academy Awards, the World Series, the Super Bowl and the Olympics, and has sang or recorded duets with such major stars as Aerosmith, Mary J Blige, Britney Spears, Nelly, Michael Jackson, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, and Gloria Estefan. The group went on hiatus in 2002, and two of its members, Timberlake and Chasez, later released solo albums.
