Paul Anka is one of the few artists in the music business who has enjoyed popularity in more than one era. Anka became one of the most successful teen idols of the '50s from hits such as the multi-million selling #1 hit, “
Diana”. Paul Anka was not only a popular performer during this time, but a well respected songwriter as well despite his young age. After his career waned in the early 1960’s Paul Anka started his own record label, acted in several motion pictures and continued to write hits for other artist such as
Tom Jones and the late
Buddy Holly. Though few are aware of it, Paul Anka wrote the theme to the Tonight Show, which was played on the show for over 30 years. In the Mid 1970’s, Paul Anka had another #1 hit with the song “Having My Baby”, a duet with Odia Coates.
