You can't go from rock music to OutKast's "ATLiens". It just doesn't flow right. I swear anybody can become a DJ these days...

Outkast music biography continued...

teens who had a knack for writing catchy rhymes and using two different styles of rap to blend into what we now know as Outkast. Outkast's first album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzk, debuted in 1994. With Southern slang and local Atlanta flavor, the then-teenagers had the attention of the rap world. Some of their first hits were with the pimp-friendly "Player's Ball" and ode to high school graduation "Call of Da Wild".

Outkast began to reach above their so called hip-hop genre with there sophomore album, ATLiens. Although the album did not receive rave reviews like the first album, there were a few breaks out singles. "Elevators" and "13th Floor/Growing Old" were two singles that showed the passion the duo had. Many critics believed the album was not received well due to the first time production from Outkast themselves.

The group's third album Aquemini, regained Outkast's originality and spark. The album, like their first, was the duo's take on southern hip-hop. "Rosa Parks" was the first single that gave the group mass-recognition. "SpottieOttieDopalicious" is a spoken word bit that showed the brilliance of Andre 3000. "Liberation" featuring Erica Badu was a gospel and blues record different from anything on the album. Outkast's break out album was Stankonia released in 2000. "So Fresh, So Clean" was a silky-smooth song while "Ms.Jackson" was more pop orientated. "B.O.B." was a guitar rocking, gospel chorus, masterpiece that sounded like nothing before it. The latest effort from the group was The Speakerboxx/The Love Below, a double CD showcasing both artists talents. Outkast is still going strong today and continues to reach outside of the box.
