Outkast is known as one of the most influential and ground breaking hip-hop groups of all time. The group topped the rap charts as well as the pop charts. Outkast began to reach above their so called hip-hop genre with there sophomore album, ATLiens. Although the album did not receive rave reviews like the first album, there were a few breaks out singles. “Elevators” and “13th Floor/Growing Old” were two singles that showed the passion the duo had. Many critics believed the album was not received well due to the first time production from Outkast themselves.
The group’s third album Aquemini, regained Outkast’s originality and spark. The album, like their first, was the duo’s take on southern hip-hop. “Rosa Parks” was the first single that gave the group mass-recognition. “SpottieOttieDopalicious” is a spoken word bit that showed the brilliance of Andre 3000. “
