Peter & Gordon-A World Without Love-#1-1964: The British duo of Peter Asher and Gordon Waller had the luck to have Paul McCartney dating Peter’s sister Jane as they were setting out on their recording career. Lennon & McCartney wrote “
A World Without Love” for the pair and it became a #1 hit on both sides of the Atlantic. From 1964 thru 1967 they would hit the top 20 seven times before disbanding. Peter Asher continued in the music business as a producer and manager of such superstar artists as

Warren Zevon and others. He won a Grammy in 1989 for Producer of the Year for his work with Ronstadt and her album Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the
Wind. Gordon Waller has never been heard from again.
