from New York City who had spent a portion of his childhood living in Colombia. After working on remixes for several reggae singles, Morillo teamed up with a toaster, the General, for "Muevelo," a platinum-selling single popular in Latin communities. Morillo followed up with another dance floor favorite, "The New Anthem/Funk Buddha," which brought him the attention of the Strictly Rhythm label. Signed to the label and introduced to the Trinidad-born vocalist Mad Stuntman (aka Mark Quashie), Morillo formed Reel 2 Real and released the group's first single, "I Like to Move It," in 1993. The song was an international smash and paved the way for the album Move It, which produced three more British hit singles—"Go On Move," "Can You Feel It" and "Raise Your Hands." The duo followed with the albums Reel 2 Remixed (1995) and "Are You Ready For Some More?" All told the duo had seven Top 10 hits on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in the 1990s before disbanding. In 2005, "I Like to Move It" returned to the charts when it was featured in the Disney movie Madagascar and covered by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen.
