Williams' first solo effort was released in 1997 called Life Thru a Lens. Life Thru a Lens was a huge hit, catapulting Williams to number one on the U.K.'s billboard charts. His second album released in the U.K. was 1998's I've Been Expecting You, which also went to number one. Although Williams was extremely successful in the U.K., the star had not made it big in America.
Williams' first two solo albums were combined in a two disc masterpiece called The Eagle Has Landed. Williams had major hits with his singles "Lazy Days" and "Millennium." "Angels" was a love ballad that made Williams not only a sex symbol in the U.K., but in America as well. "Let Me Entertain You" was Williams' poking fun at the idea of himself entertaining people for show business.
After the immense success from Williams' first American release, EMI signed him in 2002. Escapology was Williams' second release in the U.S., with a more grown up sound. Williams continues to record and entertain fans all over the world.
