Rooney music biography continued...
Formed in Los Angeles in 2000, Rooney consists of Robert Schwartzman (vocals/guitar), Taylor Locke (guitar), Matt Winter (bass), Louie Stephens (keyboards), and Ned Brower (drums). Through their connections, the band scored a live debut in 2002 opening for Phantom Planet. This was followed by more live dates with top bands like Weezer and the Vines, and the recording of their cheery self-titled debut album in 2003. With exposure on the television program the O.C., "Rooney" sales got a major boost, and the band started to consider recording their sophomore album. Three producers and four years later, the band released Calling the World on Cherrytree Records. In May 2008, Rooney headed out on a headlining tour dubbed "The Calling the World Tour" and signaled the intention to record their third album. Now they are, indeed, calling the world to their upbeat, sunny music.
