Sash! music biography continued...

consists of Thomas Lüdke, and Ralf Kappmeier. The first single that the group recorded was 1997's "It's My Life," but their breakthrough didn't come until their second single—"Encore Une Fois" (meaning "Once Again", featuring Sabine Ohmes' voice) which raced through the club charts in Italy, Germany, Holland and the Scandinavian countries. The third release was "Ecuador" which proved to be as strong as its forerunner. "Encore Une Fois," "Ecuador" and two other singles-- "Stay" and "Mysterious Times", all peaked at #2 in the UK singles chart. In fact, they held the record for having the most #2 UK singles (a total of five), without ever reaching #1. Powered by these singles, Sash! were signed by Polydor and came out with the album It's My Life in the summer of 1997. It was a huge critical and commercial success. Sash! next recorded Life Goes On (1998) which contained another dance hit—"La Primavera"— and Trilenium (2000), which spawned the hit "Adlelante." In 2002, Sash! released their 4th album S4 Sash!, which produced the hit singles "Ganbareh" which was sung in Japanese, "Run" which featured Boy George, and then "I Believe" which had the powerful vocals of TJ Davis. In 2007, Sash! released an album called '10th Anniversary', which was first sold in South Africa. In October 2008, the Best Of (10th Anniversary Album) entered the UK Market at number 10, solidifying Sash's status as a global phenomenon.



Sash! has always also made remixes for other artists, such as 2 Unlimited (Spread Your Love), Space Frog (Follow Me), Jean Michel Jarre (Oxygene 10) and dokter Alban (Mr. DJ and the new remix album). 2005 they produced a new project called Latinovela, featuring three girls. They released their new single Abeja in June. A 2005 remix of Ecuador (done with DJ Lhasa) was released on compilation. Sash! continues to tour in many countries of Eastern and Northern Europe, where they first got their start a decade ago.
