Spandau Ballet: True-#4-1983: Already established as stars in their native England on the fashion/dance club circuit, Spandau Ballet released their first U.S. single in the summer of 1983 and it was a hit. “True” was a total departure from their previous dance oriented music and the lush balled peaked at #4 on the pop charts. It would be their only success within the top 20 and within a short time the group disbanded and guitarist Gary Kemp and his brother Martin were starring on British television and movies. Gary would also land a role on the American hit series “The Larry Sanders Show” and the Whitney Houston flick “The Bodyguard”.
