Taking Back Sunday music biography continued...
was originally composed of Antonio Longo on lead vocals, Jesse Lacey on bass and backing vocals, John Nolan on guitar, Eddie Reyes on guitar, and Steven DeJoseph on drums. After several line-up changes, the band released their debut album, Tell All Your Friends, on Victory Records in 2002 with little fanfare. After further line-up changes, their sophomore album on Victory, Where You Want To Be, made more of a splash when it dropped in 2004. Propelled by the single "A Decade Under The Influence," Where You Want To Be went on to debut at the #3 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Soon major labels came calling and in 2006, the outfit released Louder Now on Warner Brothers Records. Debuting at #2, the album was Taking Back Sunday's greatest success to date. The band's intense live energy was put on display with the concert CD/DVD package Louder Now: Part Two, released several months later. Despite the band's growing exposure, however, vocalist, guitarist Fred Mascherino exited the lineup in October 2007 and launched a solo career. Several months later, former Facing New York member Matt Fazzi was named as Mascherino's replacement, and the revamped band spent most of 2008 writing new material and playing occasional shows. In summer 2009, the newly gelled line-up released New Again, a bold declaration that only served to prepare their fan base for great things to come.
