The Bird and the Bee music biography continued...
daughter of Little Feat's Lowell George. The two united in 2004, while Kurstin was working on George's debut solo album, and realized that they wanted to further explore their mutual love of jazz. Their debut EP, Again and Again and Again and Again, came out in late October 2006,while The Bird and the Bee's self-titled LP was released the following year off Blue Note Records, It yielded a number one hit on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart with a remix of the feisty "Fucking Boyfriend." After releasing two more EPs, 2007's Please Clap Your Hands," which featured a cover of the Bee Gees' "How Deep is Your Love," and 2008's One Too Many Hands, the duo started to gain traction. "Fucking Boyfriend" was used in the movie soundtrack to Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the cover of "How Deep Is Your Love" appeared on the Sex and the City: The Movie soundtrack. The duo's next album, Ray Guns Are Not Just the Future, was released in January 2009, another big electro-pop hit for a surging duo that came together almost by accident.
