The Cars music biography continued...
singles that made them one of the most popular American rock & roll bands of the late '70s and early '80s. Chart topping Cars songs included "Let's Go" and "It's All I Can Do." The band was fronted by Ric Ocasek, who met bassist Benjamin Orr at a party in Columbus, Ohio. The group was rounded out by guitarist Elliot Easton, keyboardest Greg Hawkes and drummer David Robinson. After the band split up, Ocasek continued to play solo, while Robinson opened a restaurant. Orr died of pancreatic cancer in 2000. Elliot Easton and Greg Hawkes have mixed their talents with Todd Rundgren in a new revamped lineup, The New Cars in 2005.
