Corrs family -- vocalist Andrea, drummer Caroline, violinist Sharon and guitarist/keyboard player Jim. With two parents who were musicians, the Corrs became involved with music at an early age and started performing and writing their own songs while still in their teens. They rapidly garnered regional interest, but their big break didn't come until 1994, when the American ambassador to Ireland invited the Corrs to perform at the 1994 World Cup in Boston. The exposure led to a supporting role in Celine Dion's 1996 tour, which the group joined just after an appearance at that year's Olympic Games in Atlanta. The Corrs' debut album Forgiven, Not Forgotten (released on Lava/Atlantic in America) became internationally popular, and reached unparalleled 4 X platinum heights in their native country. After a series of high profile concert appearances, The Corrs released their sophomore album, Talk On Corners in 1997, produced by 12-time Grammy winner David Foster. The album zoomed to #1 in Ireland and top chart positions all over the world, becoming their best-selling album to date and solidifying The Corrs as a band of international renown.



After taking a break to appear across Madonna in the movie version of Evita, Andrea Corrs joined her siblings back in the studio to record their third album, 2000's In Blue, which moved more towards mainstream pop, upsetting some critics, but not the group's fans. In Blue achieved platinum sales in the US, double platinum in the UK, and quadruple platinum in Australia. The Corrs recorded three more albums after In Blue and appeared in numerous charity events, including Prince's Trust in 2004 and Live 8 alongside Bono in 2005. The same year, they were awarded honorary MBEs for their contributions to music and charity. The Corrs have been on hiatus since 2006 to raise families and, in Andrea's case, pursue a solo career. If their millions of fans have their way, they'll be back together soon making more great music.
