Broadcast on one of the biggest networks in Germany, the frenzy over the boys began before they could take stock of what had happened to them. They hit No. 1 on the German Billboard Charts with their debut single "Maria" and received the German Radio Music Award for "Best Newcomer 2005." Their 2005 debut album, Here We Go, was also a mega success, buoyed by the follow-up singles "Just Because Of You," "Come Back to Me Baby," and "Mama." US5 released their sophomore effort, In Control, in late 2006, returning to the top of the German charts through "In the Club" and "One Night with You."



Flying high in 2006, the band settled in Berlin, where they began working with the famous Berlin production duet, Mike Michaels and Mark Dollar of Triple M Music. Michaels and Dollar boasted about the boys, "Each of the five has so much musical and dancing talent that together they are easily unbeatable!" Despite continued success, the band was forced to put things on hold in 2007, when Pearlman's years of illegal financial activity landed him in jail. At the time, Perlman's management firm had already created and handled such internationally famous groups such as the Backstreet Boys, 'N SYNC, LFO and O-Town, just to name a few. Perlman and his acts had sold over 65 million albums, proving that despite his shortcomings, Perlman had a knack for discovering and nurturing great talent.
