Usher Raymond IV was born on October 14, 1978 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Drawn from LaFace Records' exceedingly deep pool of young R&B acts, Usher is one of the few who can boast of real star quality and staying power. Usher’s breakthrough came in 1997 with the release of the album My Way and such Usher songs as “You Make Me Wanna,” “My Way” and “Nice N Slow.” After a brief detour into acting, Usher returned to the top of the US charts in 2000 with "U Remind Me", which premiered the transatlantic hit album 8701.
