Vitamin C music biography continued...

New Jersey, Fitzpatrick made her first musical outing as the lead singer of pop punk band Eve's Plum, who got a record deal with Epic Records in 1992. The band released two albums and seven singles between 1993 and 1995 before being dropped by their label for failing to achieve any mainstream success. After this, Fitzpatrick pursued a dance/pop musical project she dubbed "Vitamin C" and started shopping demos. She eventually signed to Elektra Elektra Record and her first album, Vitamin C, rose to number 29 on the Billboard 200. The album's first single, Smile, climbed to number 18 on the Hot 100, while the third single Graduation (Friends Forever) got heavy radio airplay, roared into platinum territory, and went on to be one of the most popular graduation themed songs ever recorded. After its release, Fitzpatrick jumped on the marketing opportunities befitting a teen idol, licensing everything from her own doll to a shade of lipstick matching her signature orange hair.

After her next album, The Itch, failed to yield any hit singles, Fitzpatrick was dropped by Elektra and picked up by V2 Records, but failed to make a commercial dent on that label as well. In 2006, Fitzpatrick assembled a Radio Disney-aimed group of four young teenagers named The Truth Squad. She allowed the group to cover Graduation (Friends Forever) and wrote a number of songs for their debut album as well as producing it. Although the album did not fare well commercially, Fitzpatrick was undaunted. Over the last three years, Fitzpatrick has been steadily recording two new albums for herself and trying to land herself an album deal with another record label. Fans admire her passion and persistence and are eager to hear her on the radio once again.
