her dream of becoming a singer at the age of 8 when she began performing with the Tampa Bay Children's Choir. By the time she reached 11, she was a member of the Tampa-based children's performing arts troupe Entertainment Revue. The group, which consisted of 20 girls ranging in age from five to 16, performed throughout the region at fairs and conventions, as well as at Walt Disney World and Busch Gardens. In 1999, the 18 year old Ford started performing under the stage name Mandah and was signed to MCA, where she recorded the song "Lullaby." The tune was featured on the double-platinum soundtrack for the motion picture Pokémon: The First Movie, and led to an opening slot for the touring Backstreet Boys performing under her current stage name. As a result of the tour, Ford got into a relationship with Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, which was feasted on in the media. At the age of 20 the singer signed on to a new label, Lava Atlantic Records, which released her debut album, Willa Was Here in 2001. Ford co-wrote and executive produced the album, which reached #56 on the Billboard 200 on basis of the hit single, "I Wanna Be Bad." After appearing on MTV and as an advertising spokesperson for Pantene, Ford returned to the studio in 2003 and recorded a dance song incorporating a sorority chant, "A Toast to Men." The song, which featured guest rapper Lady May, was featured in daytime promo ads for soap operas and was from her unreleased sophomore album Sexysexobsessive. Ford's recording career petered out after that, but she became a staple of reality TV and even performed on Dancing with the Stars. She also starred in the Anna Nicole Smith biopic released in September 2009, extending her original fifteen minutes of fame by at least another ten minutes.
