in church by a father who was not only a minister, but a member of a 70s R&B group. The sisters later met Kandi Burruss and Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, while attending high school in an Atlanta suburb, and the four formed Xscape in 1990. Their first gig was singing at record producer Jermaine Dupri's birthday part in 1991, and he subsequently signed them to his So So Def record label. The group released their debut album, Hummin' Comin' at 'Cha, in October 1993, and their first single, "Just Kickin' It", reached #2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. The tracks "Tonight", "Understanding", and '"Love on My Mind'" were also released. In July 1995, Xscape released their second album, Off the Hook, which yielded the song "Who Can I Run To" and also reached #1 on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs singles chart. Three other singles, "Feels So Good," "Can't Hang," and "Do You Want To," were also released from the album. In May1998, Xscape released its third album, Traces of My Lipstick, and released the singles, "The Arms of the One Who Loves You," "My Little Secret," "Am I Dreamin'," and "Softest Place on Earth." After the release of this album, the group began to part ways. After a five-year hiatus, sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott reunited with Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. They replaced Lead singer Kandi Burruss with Kiesha Miles to sing background to record a fourth album, Unchained, but the album was never released. The vocalists went on to somewhat successful solo careers, but never achieved the heights of fame they had enjoyed as a group.
