As soon as the Atlanta, Georgia,--based band was founded, they began an aggressive touring schedule, playing upwards of 200 dates a year, and ultimately opening for such superstars as the Allman Brothers Band, Etta James, B.B. King, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Willie Nelson, Sugarland, Travis Tritt, and ZZ Top The Zac Brown Band self-released their debut album, Home Grown, in December 2005 and sold about 20,000 copies. A live album entitled Live from the Rock Bus Tour followed in 2007 on the Home Grown label. 2008's The Foundation, was recorded for the Live Nation label in Nashville, Atlanta and the Bahamas with award winning producer Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffett). It contains 11 tracks that have been described as equal parts classic country, bluegrass, singer-songwriter and Parrothead. Through it all, no one is having a better time than Brown himself. "We laugh all the time," he once observed "You're either sleeping or up laughing and having a good time. Or we're playing music. It's better than I could have dreamed of." His band's fans think so, too.
