and Juan Luis Morera Luna (Wisin), met in 1995 when Wisin was studying theater/acting and Yandel was working as a barber. Both in love with the reggae-Panamanian Dancehall music that was eventually named reggaeton, they decided to give music a go. Their first break came in 1998 when they were featured on DJ Dicky's compilation album No Fear 3 on the Fresh Productions label; they subsequently signed with the record company and the following year released their debut album Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, which met with critical and commercial success in Puerto Rico. In the succeeding years, they released three more albums, all of which met with decent success in the Latin American markets, but they didn't break into the international scene until 2005's Pal Mundo. Co-produced with reggaeton hitmakers Luny Tunes, the album was an almost immediate hit lifting the duo from the ranks of the ordinary to the level of reggaeton superstars like Tego Calderon and Daddy Yankee. There was now no turning back for the incredibly talented duo.



In 2007, Wisin & Yandel founded their own record label, WY Records, and released their sixth studio album Wisin vs. Yandel: Los Extraterrestres. With its first break-out single, "Sexy Movimiento," Wisin & Yandel catapulted to the top of the Latin urban music charts as well as winning honors at the 2008 Premio Lo Nuestro and Premio Juventud Awards. In April 2009, Wisin & Yandel received the Latin Rhythm Album of the Year, Duo or Group, Latin Billboard Music Award for Los Extraterresres. They followed up with their seventh album, La Revolución, a fitting title for a duo that helped introduce a revolutionary sound in Latin music.
