Daniels’ biggest hit was “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” a country rock song that became a number one hit on the country charts. “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” was released in 1979 and appeared on the album Million Mile Reflections. The song is known for its spoken word rather than its being sung. There is dialect between Satan and Johnny, a boy with a golden fiddle and musical solos with instruments being used as bridges during the song. The song became a # 3 pop hit on the Billboard Hot 100. |
