The Happy Feet Soundtrack features songs from a variety of popular artists. Happy Feet the movie won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature in 2006, as well as a host of other awards. The computer animated comedy-drama incorporated live action humans in certain scenes and was simultaneously released in both conventional theatres and in IMAX 2D format. The Happy Feet film featured the voices of Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Hugh Jackman and Nicole Kidman. A sequel with the same actors is already in the works.

The Happy Feet movie story is set in an Antarctic emperor penguin colony, where every inhabitant must sing a unique song (called a "Heartsong") to attract a soul mate. The film’s protagonist is Mumble, a penguin chick who can’t sing and therefore has no heartsong, but who has a great talent for tap dancing. At first ostracized by the other penguins, Mumble ultimately becomes their hero.

Critics applauded the songs on the Happy Feet soundtrack as being totally infectious. Happy Feet songs ranged from gems by established stars such as Prince’s “Song of the Heart,” Pink’s “Tell Me Something Good” and k.d. lang’s Beatles medley “Golden Slumbers/The End” The Happy Feet soundtrack also features Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman doing their best imitations of pop stars on “Kiss” and “Heartbreak Hotel” respectively.
