About PERFECT...
The Perfect soundtrack is a perfect snapshot of the 80’s, as is Perfect the movie, released in 1985, and starring Jamie Lee Curtis (in the best shape of her life) and John Travolta. Perfect the film featured Travolta at the peak of his fame and probably feeling like he could star in anything and make it a hit. Like an earlier Travolta success (Saturday Night Fever), the script was based on a magazine article.
The Perfect film is about a "Rolling Stone" reporter, out to do an expose of LA's health clubs, who meets an attractive aerobics instructor and becomes smitten with her. The reporter, played by Travolta, finds out, however, that winning her affections is no easy task.
The Perfect soundtrack features some of the top pop acts of the 1980s, including the Thompson Twins, Wham and Berlin. It also features Whitney Houston before she became a pop diva, doing a duet with Jermaine Jackson. Jamie Lee Curtis also filmed a music video with Jermaine Jackson to promote the movie.
