The Shrek 2 soundtrack is the second of the three installments in the Shrek movie trilogy. The Shrek 2 movie, released in 2004, was considered by many to be the funniest of the three-part series, starring of course Shrek himself (voiced by Mike Myers), Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), and of course the lovable Donkey (Eddie Murphy). This of course, was followed up by Shrek the third in the summer of 2007.

The story for the Shrek 2 movie follows in the backdrop medieval times in “Far Far Away”, as the evil Fairy Godmother formulates a plan to pry Fiona away from Shrek in a plot to marry her to Prince Charming – her son. Shrek, along with Donkey and the pesky feline Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) and a whole cast of the most recognizable nursery rhyme characters – Pinocchio, The Three Pigs, The Gingerbread Man, The Big Bad Wolf, Muffin Man, Mongo, and others – look to ward off the evil Fairy Godmother and restore peace and normalcy to Far Far Away.
