The Where The Boys Are soundtrack accompanies a film that was released in 1960 and has since become a cult classic. The Where The Boys Are the movie is appreciated today as a glimpse back in time at the emerging postwar baby-boom generation, their relationship with the older generation, and the changing lifestyles of 1960s America. It starred George Hamilton and Connie Francis. An unsuccessful remake the Where the Boys Are film was made in 1984.

Based on a novel by Glendon Swarthout, the Where The Boys Are movie is a comedy about the antics of four Midwestern college co-eds who spend spring break in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. It focuses on the coming of age of Merritt Andrews, an innocent young woman. Where the Boys Are was one of the earliest teen films to explore adolescent sexuality and changing American sexual customs. It was intended to be about fun and romance under the sun, but had a sort of melancholy ending.

The Where the Boys Are soundtrack was heavy on jazz, but also featured pop music superstar Connie Francis singing the title tune, in addition to starring in the movie. A very young Neil Sedaka also performs on the soundtrack.
